Triathlon career: Anne took up triathlon in 1998 when she started University in Cardiff and soon started competing in Olympic distance events. By 2003 she had progressed to longer distance races and won her first middle distance event. In the following season she placed 3rd in the Age Group World Long Distance Championships in Sweden, 2004. It was then that Anne stepped into the professional ranks in long distance triathlon internationally and domestically. She finished 3rd in her first ironman distance event in 2004 and since then has consistently delivered top ten finishes, including a 5th at Ironman UK in 2006 and more recently a 4th at 2008 Port Macquarie Half Ironman. Anne continues to progress on the Ironman distance circuit, consistently delivering strong results. She has set herself clear goals of podium finishes and ironman distance victories at international level over the next few years.

Hobbies: Anne has always led an outdoor and energetic lifestyle and naturally chooses to spend any spare time outside of training and competing, out and about in the natural world. She is an outgoing individual and loves trying new sports/activities such as rally driving and tandem sky diving. She is however, also very creative and time spent painting for herself, friends and family as gifts or commissioned work, helps to balance her energetic lifestyle with relaxing and the all important recovery time.

Other sporting achievements: Prior to triathlon Anne found success in a number of sports. From a young age, Anne showed natural talent and a strong desire to be as good as she could be in any sport or activity she took up. She was a reliable athlete for all of the school sports teams and took a number to county level including hockey, netball, athletics and swimming. She was also a very keen horse rider and regularly competed in one day eventing and horse trials.
